Retailing comprises business activities involved in selling goals and services to consumers
for personal and family use. It is the last stage in the distribution process of products. Retailing is an important field to study because of its impact on the economy, its functions in
distribution and its relationship with firms selling goods and services to retailers for their
resale or use. This module attempts to sensitize students on the importance of retail management. And also
impart to them skills to effectively manage and integrate all of the many retailing functions
in order to develop an overall plan for the retail organization.
