Preamble
Human Computer Interaction (HCI) is an interdisciplinary field that combines theories and
methodologies across many domains including computer science, cognitive psychology, human factors, and neurocognitive engineering and engineering design. Major areas of focus in this class include interface design, implementation and evaluation.

Course description
Human Computer Interaction (HCI) is an interdisciplinary field that integrates theories and methodologies across many domains including cognitive psychology, neurocognitive engineering, computer science, human factors, and engineering design. The course introduces learners to fundamental principles for designing and analysing interactive systems. Content to be covered include user-centered design, human cognitive and physical abilities, prototyping and evaluation techniques, and graphical design fundamentals. The course also reviews emerging areas of HCI research including mobile interaction, augmented-reality, multi-touch interaction, tangible interaction, and ubiquitous computing.
