DESCRIPTION
The course is focused on learning and understanding the gender issues in agriculture and the different sub-sectors in agriculture: land ownership, livestock and poultry production, crop production, agribusiness, horticulture and food industry. There will be discussions on the gender needs (practical and strategic needs), gender approaches to development and gender analysis. Land rights in terms of access and control over resources will be examined.
AIM
The aim of the course is to raise students’ awareness about the relevance and importance of gender as a crosscutting issue in agriculture and equip them with basic skills to conduct a gender analysis for purposes of integrating gender in agricultural development processes.
